All about ME.
I was born in Los Angeles, California (Marina Del Rey, for those you want specifics) and moved to Issaquah, Washington at the age of 10 (can we say, reverse culture shock?) Somewhere in the next few years, I discovered design. I can credit two of my friends in 6th grade for suggesting I join the Yearbook club. From then on, I was hooked. Eventually I ended up being Yearbook Editor in High School and tried to figure out how to make this love into a career.
I went to college in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA at Cal Poly. As a Graphic Communication Major (and Packaging Minor) I learned all I possibly could about printing and design. Once I graduated, I moved back to Washington (Bellevue) and began working in Prepress. In my first job I got to help a struggling department prosper and quickly made myself indespensable. I had to move on to a bigger and better print shop at that point, for various reasons. From then on, I got some great experience at a higher level of printing.
While working full time, I had been building my client base on the side. It eventually got to the point where I decided to quit my full-time job to officially start my design business.
Call Me Amy Design officially started in April 2007. So far, it has been going great! My business keeps growing every day and I'm excited to see where it goes from here!
